Thomas Meek, DO
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine / Medical Director
Specialty: Family Medicine / Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine

Education: Residency Training, University of New England / Southern Maine Medical Center. DO, Medical School - Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. BS, Under Graduate - University of Rio Grande

Background: Dr. Meek grew up and attended medical school in rural Southeastern Ohio. He completed residency training in Portland, Maine where he specialized and became board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (OMT). He has had the opportunity to do mission work in Kenya, Honduras, Peru, as well as domestically and has lived and practiced in Western North Carolina since 2012.
These experiences have allowed him to recognize the need for healthcare in diverse, and often remote, under served areas. This has shaped his philosophy - to make the most out of each and every medical appointment. The best possible outcome results from a collaborative effort between the patient and physician. The goal is to avoid prescriptions and procedures whenever possible and ultimately, to find health.

As a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Dr. Meek received extra training in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) during medical school and residency. OMT is a treatment option similar in some ways to physical therapy, chiropractic, & massage therapy often utilized to treat painful muscular and skeletal conditions without medications.
